Canada has ‘no intention’ of China free trade deal, Carney says, as Trump threatens 100% tariffs

Mark Carney said Canada has no plans to pursue a free trade agreement with China, rejecting President Donald Trump’s warning that Ottawa would face 100% US tariffs if it struck a “deal” with Beijing. Carney said Canada is addressing specific trade issues while remaining bound by CUSMA rules.
