Defending champion R Praggnanandhaa defeated Aravindh Chithambaram in an all-Indian battle in Round 9 on Tuesday to collect his first win of the 2026 Tata Steel Chess. D Gukesh, meanwhile, lost to Matthias Bluebaum while Arjun Erigaisi played out a draw against Hans Niemann.
